Black screen flash running Full screen Apps

As the title suggests, I'm getting flashes of black screens shortly after I start playing games.

I believe this is a GPU issue because It's when i'm running VERY heavy graphically dependant games and 3D Apps. For instance I ran Battlefield 2142 on max for ages with no problems then realised i could boost the resolution to 1680 x 1050, when I did so it started happening every 30 or 40 seconds or so. It happens in GRAW2, Las Vegas, World in Conflict, Bioshock, etc. But not in games like UT2004. It even happened in CS:S after a few hours gameplay. (In all games I understand that ATI are not very good with Anti-Alaising, so I keep that down a notch)

I'm not sure whats going on which is why i'm here.

I've tried:
  • Other Drivers (CCC, Omega, Etc.)
  • Tweaking in programs like ATI Tool.
  • Other Settings on the Drivers
  • Lower Settings (which worked in game. But why would i want that?)

Here's my specs:
  • Windows XP Pro
  • Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 running on an ASUS P5KC
  • The RAMs pretty hardcore and so's all the cooling.
  • ATI Sapphire 2900XT 512mb (Stock Cooling)

As this is all Packed in a Silverstone JB09 (with the interior fan in the direction of the Graphics card) So I really can't see there will be a problem with the cooling, although i'm going to check now with speedFan.

Thanks for any help you can give on this information, please ask if anyone requires any more!

Harry

Re: Black screen flash running Full screen Apps

Alright my temperatures are as follows:

IDLE
CPU: 13C
HD0: 36C
Core 0: 20C
Core 1: 20C

100% LOAD
CPU: 25C
HD0: 36C
Core 0: 32C
Core 1: 32C

I'd tell you in game but i'm not sure how to get a GPU Core Temp without unlocking my "ATI Overdrive" Settings with CCC with a 2900XT. Unless someone can suggest?
