Cry XP forcing me to use 640x480 8bit

Hello all,

I've had this problem a few times and just restored, but it won't let me restore far back now and I can't get the problem to fix itself.

When XP longs on, it logs on on a vile 640x480 Low 8bit mode, and if I try to change it in settings it won't change, it goes through the usual "are you happy to keep this setting..blah blah blah" but doesn't actually change.

Is there any solution to this, other than restoring the computer, because that just doesn't work.

My first suggestion would be to try reinstalling your video card drivers. Most of the time that'll fix it.
