Need help with vc before i go to iraq!

Hello all, i just ran into quite a small problem, i have a sony laptop, i couldnt find the model thats listed on the bottem of the laptop which is PCG-1L6L, but ive came to read that VGN-SZ220 is the same thing hopfully. My computer stopped recognizing my nvidia card and now its looking at the integrated intel chipset on here and no traces of the nvidia card, ive reformated and all that good stuff and nothing comes up, ive tried downloading some diffrent drivers for the video card i think i have which is a geforce go 5600 or 7000 or one of them, if i try it says it cant find the hardware. i first noticed my video card not working when i tried to play counter strike and it wouldnt load, i was like hmm thats not good. I want to fix my laptop before i go to iraq for a year and i dont have enough money to get a new one :/ if yall could help me out it would be apprechiated.

Hi, and welcome to TSF!

If you go into the Control Panel and double click on the Add New Hardware icon, does it find it?

Also, what happens if you uninstall the Intel GMA950 driver, reboot and imediately go into safe mode. Then install the nVidia driver.
