Evil sli Gforce 8600's Pixelating then Freezing

I just recently built my first computer, i did research before i built and i didnt think i would run into problems i am having now. Whenever i run games the screen will sometimes pixelate causing little white lines to appear everywhere on the screen, this happens usually within seconds and sometimes up to an hour before it happens. It usually freezes up eventually too, and computer locks up , the screen flashes black , and then i have to reboot. I know its not overheating because i put my fan facing it with the side off and it still does it. Ive tried drivers.. voltage test on cpu are all fine, but could there not be enough power going to the cards? Heres my specs :

Nvidia Nforce SLI 590 motherboard
Intel duo core 2.6 ghz processor
500gb western digital hard drive
x2 BFG Nvidia Gforce 8600 OC
650W Antec PowerSupply
x2 phillips disc drives
Antec case

Re: sli Gforce 8600's Pixelating then Freezing

i just recently uprgraded from the antec 650W power supply and got a 800W BFG PowerSupply.. and there was absolutly no change in the performance of my cards, my voltage went up slightly but other than that nothing. Ive tried everything... could both cards be bad or what...any ideas? If i cant figure it out here, im gunna complain to BFG about it, but another concern someone told me about was the motherboard. Some guy at GeekSquad said Nforce Mobo's are like star trek.. only the even ones are good.... me having the 590 means its not good i guess.. i dunno, and comments on that?

No, I don't think thats it. It might be bad memory one one. Temps & voltages should be fine. Take one card out of SLI and test the system, then replace it and take the other out. If the system works fine with one card out but no the other, then you know that that card has bad video memory.

Re: sli Gforce 8600's Pixelating then Freezing

I'm not sure what the solution is, but I'm wondering if your problem is the same as mine - I'm getting very similar issues to your.

GeForce 8600 GTS heat issue...

Who is actual manufacturer of your 8600? Mine is inno3D.

Re: sli Gforce 8600's Pixelating then Freezing

yea my chipset is BFG, but i figured it out, i took it back and bought the 8600GTS which has a port on the card for the power supply, and that one works fine, as far as using the 8600GT, i just think its crap thats all.
