My ATI radeon X1550 going haywire
well heres the thing, I have an X1550 256 Mb ATI Vid card. when I start up windows it runs well for a period of time, but then, randomly when i start up things like msn, firefox and open a few tabs, the screen becomes black, and it says on my monitor out of range. or it crashes where the mouse can only go vertical on one section of the screen.
I have an ABIT board with an AGP X 8 socket 752 hammer AMD CPU, windows XP home, and the catalyst drivers are 7.7. Now mind you this is a brand spanking new install of windows, hardly any thing on it, mabey a few games, and utilities. Mean while when I play games it works like a dream. I had the opposite problem a few weeks ago before my comp crapped out on me, where it would freeze and crash or black out during games, but now it seems if I push it ever so slightly it blacks out and crashes, any help guys? I really need it. |

Re: My ATI radeon X1550 going haywire
Hello and welcome to the TSF, could you please list your psu, system temps and voltages, it sounds like you have either an overheating issue or a psu that is about to fail
