What GPU
Hi,
Im looking for a new GPU I am willing to pay up to £150 from a UK store online or offline. I will be using it on Win XP and Vista I am looking at this one http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/sto...ull&tabIndex=1 but i need to make sure its ok for XP as well. Or if its not that good can you recommend on please? I am looking for about 512MB with both DVI ports. Thanks, Jay

Re: What GPU
You may be able to find a better price from some another site. I've seen other UK users say that PCworld is overpriced, and a bad company to do biz with, but I wouldn't know. ]
I've got to head to work now, but hopefully one of our UK members can point you in the right direction for a better site/price. Have a great day. |

Theres a list of 8600GT's for around £70-£80. PCworld is a dear place. |

Re: What GPU
if you could at all stretch your budget, try to get a 8800gts 320, its an enormous step up from a 8600. in fact, if you cant afford the 8800, just get a dx9 card in your price range, as they outperform the midrange dx10 cards by a good bit in current games, and both will be too slow for games like crysis or ut3 anyways. you could get a 7950gt or a x1950xt for about 140 incl. vat, and those cards are much faster than a 8600gts, forget about 8600gt.

Re: What GPU
This is the closest to your price range (on that site i dont know anyother uk sites) that would power your system with a 8800 http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/129282/rb/0

Re: What GPU
that 8800gts is 30 pounds over his budget, not 6. he doesn't need a 850w psu for a single 8800, a quality 700w would be more than enough. http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/115881 and for the video card either that 8800 that is outside of your current budget, or this x1950xt http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/125754
