TV through PC
I am very new to this & hope this is not too basic but if I have an LCD tv [small] with the connection in it for the PC - will I automatically be able to get TV or do I stil need a tuner - if this replaces my monitor for example. Can anyone help.

If you hook up the TV to the PC via the VGA input, then it will work fine. No need for anything else. Just make sure you have the correct resolution. That TV likely uses 1366 x 768 @ 60 Hz. Many video card support that resolution or 1360 x 768. Additionally, the resolutions 1024 x 768 and 1280 x 768 work on many small TVs with the correct settings on the TV.

Thankyou so much for your help - but at the risk of really being dumb - hook up mu PC to TV via vga ..as against what?? what might I hook it up by that would be wrong

VGA would be the best option (unless the TV has a DVI input, but most new TVs don't unfortunately because it was replaced by HDMI). You could also use S-video, but that wouldn't allow HD resolutions. It wouldn't be wrong, it just won't look as good.

No. However, you posted information that tells me that the resolution of that TV is 1024 x 768 @ 60 Hz, so use that resolution. Post back how it looks.
