Hi
I recently updated the drivers of my graphics card and i was having a problem with the nvidia settings taskbar icon. It kept giving me an annyoing message after each boot, about adding a 2nd graphics card. I managed to remove the taskbar icon following the instructions found here - http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=15885 However I now have a new problem, which is after each time I start up the PC, the system config utility keeps opening up saying that I have made changes. I'm assuming that the instructions I followed from the link has resulted in changes being made to the registry after each boot? How can I prevent this?? I'd rather have a message about adding a 2nd graphics card than have a message about changes being made to the system ![]() Thanks Jeremy |

Re: Please help - Nvidia settings taskbar
Hi Jeremy, and welcome to TSF!
![]() If you have drivers that work, then it is best to stick with them. Drivers shouldn't be updated unless you are having an issue with them. Keep that in mind. ![]() What nVidia card do you have? nVidia isn't that good at writing drivers IMO, so let's find some stable drivers and stick with them.

Re: Please help - Nvidia settings taskbar
Hi, guys
I had a similar problem with an Asus Nvidia 6200, with a balloon at start-up which kept telling me my 2nd video card was not enabled for SLI. I got rid of it by disabling all the nVidia stuff at start-up by using.. Start> Run type "msconfig" in the box and press ok, under start-up uncheck all the nVidia stuff. Still at the msconfig, under the services tab, find and uncheck any nvidia stuff. Apply settings and restart. Your start-up folders may still be looking for whatever you deleted, so you could try that now and see if it sorts things out. Certainly won't do any harm. Otherwise it's "find decent drivers time". |
