Innovision 8800GTS 320mb

I have the above running under Vista 64bit that i have hooked up to a crt tv through s-video. The picture is a bit cut off on all sides however, enough so that i cant the the taskbar and sidebar. I have installed the latest vista 64 drivers. There are no settings in the nvidia control panel that allow me to change any tv settings apart from input type, s-video, component etc.

I have another computer which is running XP pro and a Leadtek 7600GT. This works fine on the TV, the nvidia control panel on here also supports a lot more settings that allows me to change the desktop size on the tv to whatever i want. I cant do this on my Vista machine.

What could be the problem? Drivers not as efficient yet? The OS?

Any suggestions much appreciated!

Re: Innovision 8800GTS 320mb

Hi, had a friend with similar problem and his wife solved it by using the TV remote control.
Worth a try!

Update! - Ive tried it on my larger TV downstairs and get the same problem through both composite and S-video. both TVs are panasonic.

Windows Media Center can actually solve the problem when i do the wizard, it seems to rescale the image so that it fits perfectly on screen, however i cant manage to do this on the vista desktop. Hence, when i quit media center the screen is out of proportion again.

Also, i can manage to get the whole picture on screen on my downstairs widescreen tv, in 640x480. It seems this is the only resolution that fits, the higher resolution i go the more of the screen gets cut off and seems enlarged.

640 sucks though, i cant even run any games. Is this what im gonna have to put up with?

Any more advice please!

edit - also on my nvidia control panel i cant seem to change the digital vibrance and another attribute (hue?), whereas on my 7600GT control panel i can.

Re: Innovision 8800GTS 320mb

no they are listed as certified
ForceWare 160.04 64bit (WHQL)
what i was pointing out is that you can usually find later beta drivers floating about the net that have been leaked
with nvidia you find they are beta one day and certified the next
if those do not have the setting you require available you may have to lookfor the latest beta to get it
i quite often use beta drivers and there is usually a readme txt with them where it may list any known problem with them
