Installed new ATI drivers, now DVI-D monitor doesn't work.
Hi folks,
I updated my graphics drivers yesterday from the file provided on the ATI website. I restarted at the end of the install as prompted, then upon reboot I will see the bios and startup screens but after them my 19"ws LG LCD monitor cuts off its display with the message: Digital: Out of Range 29.7 Hz - 30.0 Hz Its a brand new monitor connected with DVI-D, it had been running flawlessly for the last week or two before I updated my drivers. Any thoughts? |

Re: Installed new ATI drivers, now DVI-D monitor doesn't work.
I didn't uninstall the old drivers, but they were the last distro of the same ATI drivers.
My card is a Powercolor X1650, forgot to mention that. I can't set the refresh rate of the monitor in safe mode, neither the video card or the monitor's specifics are detected. The only option I have is "device's default refresh rate". As well, the monitor was already set to to 60 Hz and defaulted to 60 Hz. |

Re: Installed new ATI drivers, now DVI-D monitor doesn't work.
I uninstalled the ATI drivers, checked with driver cleaner to make sure they were entirely gone, and reinstalled them (the link you gave was for the drivers I already had) through VGA mode.
This did nothing. Still getting: Digital Out Of Range 27.9 Hz / 30.0 Hz |

check in the screens manual for the correct settings and see if you can set them by the screens menu

Re: Installed new ATI drivers, now DVI-D monitor doesn't work.
for the recommended settings for this
Digital Out Of Range 27.9 Hz / 30.0 Hz then press the menu button on the monitor to bring up the setting boxes

Re: Installed new ATI drivers, now DVI-D monitor doesn't work.
The manual says nothing in remote reference to this message. The monitor itself is indeed set to 60 Hz in the control menu. My computer is also indeed set to output at 60 Hz.
I have no idea where they 29.7 Hz is coming from. |

Re: Installed new ATI drivers, now DVI-D monitor doesn't work.
the lg19ws comes up as a anolouge monitor but the refresh rates sync is the same on the ones i looked at
and you should be able to set it from the menu on the monitor i wanted to check it on the one at work but never had a chance tonight

Re: Installed new ATI drivers, now DVI-D monitor doesn't work.
Dai, as I said the monitor is already set to 60 Hz by the menu.
I reinstalled the monitor drivers, this also did nothing. Do you guys think this is something being caused by a peculiarity in the monitor, or by my video card? I'm thinking about just returning it for a different model at this point. |
