upgrade AGP x800xt pe to x1950

hi,
was guna upgrade my pc's AGP graphics card from ati x800 xt pe to x1950

3 quick questions

1-will my pc spec hold back the new card ? making the upgrade not so worth while ? the spec is 3.4 ghz ht pentium 4, 1 gb ram, 580 w powersupply. ( if u need sumthing else just ask)

2-i read problems with it overheating and that a newer model was released , which is the one i should be looking for xt, xtx ...etc ?

3- im pretty sure im going to get this card but just incase i missed something is there any other i should consider.

thanks in advance
Doug

p.s i know agp is dead but this is an older pc and to upgrad ethe graphics card will be mich cheaper than buying a new pc !

DX10 is already here.

It will depend where you buy it from and if you get the 256 MB or 512 MB version. Also, there is an X1950XT AGP as well which is currently as of this thread (6/18/07) the most powerful AGP card. I have heard (though I can't confirm) that ATI has mad an HD 2600XT AGP and will be making an HD 2900XT AGP.
