Need_Help_23

Hello.

I am currently running Windows 2000 with a problem with Direct X. I would like to be able to play 3D games using Direct X but when I open DxDiag it wont let me turn any of the DX features on required to play Unreal Tournament 2004 or Battlefield 2. I'm also running the latest Catalyst drivers from ATI. Ive also tried the Omega drivers, they didn't help. If there is Anyway to fix this problem would br greatly appreciated. I reinstalled Direct X and installed Ati Omega drivers but still i can't use Direct 3D Plz Help

Actually, Ive just updated from crashing to this problem. Ive run the directX web runtime twice now and still no response, cant initialize any 3D options.

Hi,
It seems like the ATI drivers aren't installed correctly. Have the 9800 Pro worked in that computer before?

Download and install Driver cleaner. Don't use the program yet.

Uninstall ALL ATI drivers in Control panel > Add or remove programs.

Reboot and start Driver cleaner and remove any remaining ATI driver software.

Reboot again and update the chipset driver at MSI's website.

Reboot once again - download and install the Catalyst 6.2 (driver only) from ATI.

After a final reboot it should be working.

I did every thing you said. Direct X still wont start to work. I also reinstalled Direct X, got me no where.

did u try the program that comes with the driver. like catalyst for ati and ati tools for omega driver? u can tweak most of the stuff in the program provided. should be no problem finding it also~~~~

It could be a compatibility problem with the VIA chipset on the motherboard. According to ATI the Catalyst 6.1 driver will solve that. Remember to remove the driver you're using now before installing the new one.
