Remind me of the installation steps
My friend has a Pavillion a1110n and I want to help him get a new video card. I found one its from bestbuy's website something like a PNY GeForce FX 5200 PCI. He does not have an AGP or PCI-E slot, and he plays wow, all he has is the integrated card. I did some researching and people said they were able to play WoW with this card with settings turned up and all that.
So here is my question, its been awhile since I've messed with PCI or a manufactured computer. What are the steps to installing a PCI video card and replacing an integrated. Here is what i'm thinking. 1. Disable video card in Device Manager 2. Go to bios and see if there is a setting that automatically makes the integrated card your main card and turn that off 3. Install the video card 4. Hook monitor up, turn on and install new drivers form nvidia.com See I get steps 1 and 2 mixed up, should you only do step 2 if you install the video card and you are not getting a signal in the monitor? Also what is the bios key for HPs Thank you.
