Stop error while playing games
Spec:
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual core processor 2ghz Motherboard: NVidia nForce 3 250 Graphic Card: NVidia GeForce 6600LE 256mb -using driver 6.14.10.9371 and latest I could get, that was supported for my card. Display: Samsung Syncmaster 730BF When I play games the graphics sometimes can become corrupt. This can happen for most games. But sometimes, mainly when I play World of Warcraft, I get some freezelag, and then BAM. Bluescreen and a reboot. With short time to watch what was going on before it rebooted, basically what's bugging me is the graphic card drivers. (nv4_disp.dll ******* up and making computer rebooting) This is what I get after the computer has been rebooted: Error signature: BCCode : 100000ea BCP1 : 88D795A8 BCP2 : 884BD610 BCP3 : BACDBCBC BCP4 : 00000001 OSVer : 5_1_2600 SP : 2_0 Product : 256_1 which led me to: http://wer.microsoft.com/Responses/R...2-8f254420ddb3 http://wer.microsoft.com/Responses/R...8-451433725c68 I tried updating the drivers, removing them and installing again. Using the drivers that I got from the disc with my card, and the latest version from Nvidia, supporting my card. I tried the advice Microsoft support FAQ gave with little success. I tried the troubleshooting that Blizzard themself offered: http://www.blizzard.com/support/wow/?id=aww0793p I tried the troubleshooting that Nvidia offered: http://nvidia.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/n...IsIGRyaXZlcg** Edit: Oh btw, here is a screen of some average computer temperatures if it is of any help ![]() Any help is appreciated

Re: Stop error while playing games
uninstall the card from the device manager
reboot tapping f8 and choose vga mode when windows finishes rebooting and reinstalling the card disable a/virus install your drivers reboot the computer check the voltage readings in the bios and see what the listing is for the cmos battery it may need replacing if the problem continues check you are not underpowered

Re: Stop error while playing games
I am having problems rebooting to VGA Mode
I don't get a menu to choose from when tapping F8, the computer just reboots as normal. I tried clicking F8 once in a while, I tried holding F8 in. Still wont change. The computer just reboots normally.Would this fulfil same goal? http://support.microsoft.com/kb/268852 |

Re: Stop error while playing games
turn the computer off and the psu at the back
remove the power cord remove the silver cmos battery from the m/board move the jumper from pins 1 and 2 to pins 2 and 3 on the the cmos jumper pins then put it back on pins 1 and 2 reinstall the battery put the power cord back in restart the computer and resetup your bios you will need to write down the bios settings if you are not familiar with them before you start so you know where to reset them to as the reset will put them back to default status

Re: Stop error while playing games
Ok major bump inc.
Now recently I haven't had time for my computer. But now I'm back and ready to fix this issue. While I had that damn problem with my graphic card I was using my old graphic card to play. And it just struck me. I had forgotten to reinstall the old graphic card drivers, eager to try out the new one. Apparently my new card was using same graphic card drivers as my new one, causing collision. Or so I thought .And so I finally reinstalled the old graphic card driver, and decided to give it another shot. Naive as I was, the computer doesn't start. Or well, it does start. But I am stuck with a black screen with my new graphic card. Nothing shows up, but the monitor is working fine. So before I can try if it'll work better now I have another issue to solve. |

Re: Stop error while playing games
with nvidia you just have to swap the cards and use the same drivers
when you change drivers you have to remove the old ones restart in vga mode disable a/virus install the drivers reboot the computer

Re: Stop error while playing games
Graphic Card: NVidia GeForce 6600LE 256mb
PSU: JNC model LC-A300ATX 5V & 3,3V combined load 160W (don't think this matters though?). Total output 300W +12V - 10A I think I got the right facts :p Last edited by Zell; 07-02-2007 at 12:44 PM. |

Re: Stop error while playing games
your underpowered by a longshot
12v+amps agp=18a pcie=24a min. put your specs into here http://www.extreme.outervision.com/p...ulatorlite.jsp based on a quality psu and add 30% to the end result and that's the minimun that you need you usually find video and psu upgrades go hand in hand

Re: Stop error while playing games
Okay, I was 83W underpowered. But, would this really make my graphiccard not working? I was underpowered before and it was working with my newer card, except for said stop errors and graphical distortions, but now it's all black? Well, I'll just upgrade my PSU then, might as well do it.

Re: Stop error while playing games
that's nothing unusual they work overloaded for awhile then they just give up
if you are lucky they go quietly if you are unlucky you replace virtually your whole computer

Re: Stop error while playing games
Hmm, I'll just try finding something from a local store since they dont seem to have that model. But can you give me some quick pointers on what I should look for/look out for when buying a PSU? Because I really don't know anything about PSU's.
