ati radeon video card

Hello

I got one of these ati radeon 9800xt video cards and i need to reset it and clean off its fan , well its got a white connector of some kind hooked to the corner of the card with four wires and i can not get the card out unless i unhook the connector. I have been pulling , prying , wiggleing , and cannot get the dadburn thing unhooked from the card. My question is are there somekind of way to unhook the connector?
Sure hope some can understand what i am trying to say.
thanks much
harley

Re: ati radeon video card

Do you mean the 4-pin power connector in the corner? Hold it by the plastic connector, not the wires, jiggle it from side to side while pulling and it should come out.

Yes thats the one. I tried that with my hands and with my pliers it must be welded on. I will just have to make do or cut the dadburn thing off and i sure hate to ruin it this thing cost around 500.00 back when i purchased it.
Thanks for you help , i appreciate it , it might not be to hot some folks say it is and some say its not. Going to start another post on the temp.
thanks again

Re: ati radeon video card

Well, you can't cut it off it is what powers the card, also make sure you are not pulling at an angle ( i broke a sound card doing that).
