7400 Geforce go fan stopped?
Hi,
I have a little dell xps m1210 notebook and i have been facing seriously intense overheating issues with the graphics card. Its performance has been sluggish (4 fps in lost coast) because it idles around 97 degrees celsius and, heck, i don't even watn to know how how it gets under fulll 3d load. I used i8kfangui to check the two fans i have in this small case, and one of them (which presumably handles the cpu because when i dusted it the cpu cooled 20 degrees c) works perfectly. I maxed out fan speeds and got a 20 degree reduction. but the other fan, which I presume handles the gpu is always at 922 rpm and won't budge. On fangui it just says --- in place of the "high" or "slow" speed descriptions and the 922 never budges. When i try to adjust this speed it doesn't budge. Does this mean teh fan stopped? IF so, is there anyway i can get it back working or do i have to get it replaced? Ty for ur help, Chimp |

Re: 7400 Geforce go fan stopped?
I would take it in and get it looked at because with those temps you are going to do some damage to your video card, this may already be the case
