x1950pro 512

I just brought this ATI X1950 Pro, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161059 to replace my Nvidia 6800 that came with my Dell XPS600. I uninstalled the video drivers for the 6800 removed the card then rebooted and install the latest drivers from ATI.
it looked fine and everything was ok untill i tried to play a game namely CSS and then it crashed. after about 10 minuites the game would freeze and the sound would go into a loop and the card would reset. this happened about 8 to 12 times before I gave up and tried another game thinking it could be a issuse with CSS so I tried ghost recon advanced and the same thing happened.
yeah I know what ur all saying "dude u got a dull" but hay that's not going to help right now and trust me it won't happen again. so dose anyone have any ideas of how to fix this? I've updated all my drivers with the exception of the bios which I have already downloaded just have to install it but some how Ii don't think that it will solve the problem.

Re: x1950pro 512

Hi, welcome to TSF

Your new graphics card uses more power than the old one.

6800: 38W
X1950Pro: 66W

Enter your full system specs into this power calculator, and add 30% to the total to allow for PSU inefficiency. Also, post back with the details from the PSU label (make/model, total watts, amps for +3.3V, +5V, +12V)

Check your temperatures and voltages at startup and during gameplay with SensorsView.

Have you tried an earlier version of the Catalyst drivers or the optimized Omega?
