8500GT x 2 or 8600GT?

Hey,
I've been wondering whether I should buy dual 8500GT SLI or 1 8600GT for my new computer. 8600gt will cost 140$ and dual 8500gt about 170$. I want something that will last at least a year or two.

How much better will dual 8500GT be?

Hi,

Depending on the type of game (whether it is shader heavy or older with less shader dependance), one might be a little better, but overall they will be roughly equal.

Newer games will benefit from the increased stream processors of the single 8600GT, while older games will like the higher pixel fill rate of the dual 8500GT cards.

If you can afford this card, though, it will be better than either of the combos listed above.
