Hudsons Video Card Find, 9250 for $8

I found a ATI Radeon 9250 Video Card at Hudsons (Dirt Cheap) which is like a Flea Market which takes in clothes, electronics and other items other stores cant sell because it might have something missing like a cable or slight damage somewhere.

Anyway the card in question has the box and CD and Book, looks like its went through some tumbling though, but the card works, but the problem is the box says its a 256 MB DDR card, the card in question has a 9250 label on it and everything but it also says 128 MB DDR. Was this possibly a packaging mistake by chance? The care has that new smell to it.

OR could someone had possibly upgraded from the 128, replaced the 128 back in the 256 and took it back?

a flea market card that would be impossible to answer.most likely its just the wrong box for the card.

Well I mean the labels on the video card states:

Radeon 9250
128 MB DDR
(64 Bit)

The only difference is the box states 256 MB DDR.

The card looks fairly new to.

Re: Hudsons Video Card Find, 9250 for $8

the label on the card itself is more than likely the correct specs.its probably just the wrong box since the box states 256mb,and the card label says 128mb.

I would find it highly more likely for it to be 128 MB card, you don't see very many 256 MB cards from the Radeon 9 series.

Re: Hudsons Video Card Find, 9250 for $8

So ATI intentionally put a 128 card in a 256 Box?

I know Wal-Mart handles a 9250 a good bit and has one almost every time I go into a walmart location. So I find it hard to believe that someone bought it, got the 256 card and then put a 128 in its place and returned it, unless the walmart location was ignorant enough to let that happen.

I say it would have been ignorance. Behold! A tale of eb from a trip to Wally World...

Customer: I want to get my son a Gameboy color.
Rep: Great, we have them right here.
C: Will it play my son's regular Gameboy games?
R: No, it can ONLY play games for Gameboy color.
C: Oh. Well, I won't be getting one then.
eb: ***!!

Yeah because I really dont have much sympathy for walmart for many reasons beyond that. Not to mention you cant buy anything electric from there without it going out in less then a year.

But I also didnt mention the box said it was a PCI Bus, the card with it in question was a AGP.

I did contact ATI through email to see if by stroke of luck they allow me to send them the card for a 256, it would be a pretty sweet steal if they do it.

When it comes to walmart and questions like that, I would more so expect no one around to even know the answer and not even give a answer to start with. But I have applied to work at walmart twice now with what I thought was very bad job applications, most of the answers to the applications are never applied to current employees and manager anyway, walmart is just one of those places so poorly run in most locations yet succeeds over all other places due to the fact you can find anything you want in it.
