Hi,
![]() It can handle that combo fine, but it can't handle it with an 8800GTS.

Are you planning on going to dual 8800GTX cards? That is mainly what the 1Kw PSU is for.

Re: Seasonic S12 600watt psu vs 7950GT
it could, my enermax liberty is handling my system fine with a much more power hungry video card and an overclocked cpu, though i dont know the exact specs of the jeantech other than it is a reputable psu maker.

Re: Seasonic S12 600watt psu vs 7950GT
wont be a power hungry system at all really. cpu is 65w, video is around 70w, and everything else considering a few case fans and one or two hard drives and optical drives will add up to another 100-150w. the 500w seasonic would be great.

Re: Seasonic S12 600watt psu vs 7950GT
Remember wattage isn't everything, it's the current provided on the rails, in my case my Seasonic has two 12v rails both kicking about 18.8AMPS if i recall correctly.
This is what matters in terms of power, now when I move to a 7950GT I may look into a gfx dedicated power unit for my pc. |

Just keeping the future in mind here, would that Antec 550 Trio be ok with an SLI combination of two 7950GT's? And would it be ok with an 8800GTS? (+ E6600 cpu - 2GB RAM - 1HDD ) If not I might get the Antec 650 Trio just to future proof my system for a while. Thanks! -Rich |

Re: Seasonic S12 600watt psu vs 7950GT
it would be fine with both. 7950gt sli will be about 100w, and the 8800gts will be close to 110w. the fsp psu has ripple issues in any case. http://www.atomicmpc.com.au/forums.asp?s=2&c=7&t=9354

Re: Seasonic S12 600watt psu vs 7950GT
No, you need a minimum of a 700w for an 8800GTS, but preferably a 750w. I would look at something like this:

Re: Seasonic S12 600watt psu vs 7950GT
the power requirements through the calculator come out at for
2x7950gts a min quality psu 620w 8800gtx min 650w if you o/c the power requirements will increase and if you upgrade you have no capacity unless you go for the 750w to suggest a 550w is bad advise
