Under clock NVIDIA 6600 LE

In an attempt to conserve energy I’m trying to under clock my 6600 LE NVIDIA graphic card. I have downloaded and run “coolbits” so that I’m able to access clock frequencies settings for NVIDIA, and I have installed the latest version of NVIDIA software.

When I try to lower the NVIDIA processors clock I get the message “The test could not be performed at the selected clock frequency. Please lower the setting and try again.”

Any setting lower than normal generates the above message. Anyone have any idea how I can lower the NVIDIA processors clock?
