monitor problems

hello people
im new to this forum stuff so bear with me please. ok let me start, just built
a new system
Abit kn8 board
athlon 3200 (64) cpu
radeon 1600 pro pci express
ok when i plug monitor(iiyama 19" crt) into card via vga plug i get no signal at it just says "no signal" on
BUT
when i plug in my old monitor ( compaq 17") every thing works fine
can some one please explain and help

sounds like a fault with the monitor can you try it on another computer

Hi,

Are you using the same cable when you try the different monitor? If so, then I would try the problematic monitor on another computer, and if it doesn't work there, then the problem is with the monitor and it might be not usable anymore.

yeah got 2 pc's 19" works fine on the old pc but not on the new 1

that im not sure about!
but the old one has a different pin set to the new one for some reason

the one you posted is a crt the same as the old one,is it a crt or lcd
is this what the plug looks like
