AGP / PCI conflict
Hi everone. First posting. I have an older (5 years) IBM. I put a dual AGP video card in it to run 2 screens. All OK. Then I added a dual PCI card so i could run 4 screens. All ok for a mnth. Now comp freezes half into boot up. Remove either AGP or PCI and all is OK. Together some conflict. Someone mentioned to remove drivers and cards and start all over again. I did try that to no avail. but I can't remember in which order I did it...Any hints on the problem and in which sequence would you add cards and drivers. (AGP first then PCI....visa versa or both together??????)
Thanks Graeme |

Re: AGP / PCI conflict
Hi Graeme,
Try performing a system restore to a day or two before this became a problem. Start > (All) Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore Also, try booting to the last known good configuration, and see if this is a problem in Safe Mode.

Re: AGP / PCI conflict
Thanks. No, boots up to the window logo. That horizonal line that floats from left to right & back freezes half way through its motions. Video card is ...PCI ATI Radeon 9250.....AGP is Asus A9550...sems ATI also...Ram 512..OS XP.
Thanks |

Re: AGP / PCI conflict
Try booting into safe mode and then doing a system restore.
