Benq Fp241w 1:1
Just won’t to know about my monitor the benq fp241w and playing it with pc games// k not sure if this is a problem or its normal... K when I play my games like aoe3 with res of 1400-900 look at its nice..
But when I change that to 1920-1200 it looks 2 x better... Now is this the problem? for when i play 1400-900 it looks a little Smoky or blurry. The new firmware from Benq for the monitor dose it fix this 1:1 pixel mapping or is this normal for LCD'S.. Or is the firmware update only to fix with HDMI 1:1 pixel mapping ???

Hi,
What is the native resolution of the monitor? That is the resolution you want to use. Some monitors shrink the whole screen so it will fit on the monitor even if the set resolution is higher than the monitor's native resolution.

Re: Benq Fp241w 1:1
1900x1200 is the native resolution for that monitor and probably any 24" monitor on the market. As Matt said, it's the native resolution that makes the difference. Anything smaller than 1900x1200 is going to go into expanded mode. So @ 1400x900 which is what you see on monitors up to 19", you are stretching it all the way to 1900x1200 that's 500 more horizontally and 300 more vertically. Some people wanna run their 24" monitor at 1680x1050 which I hear is acceptable still not optimal but not unviewable either. Anything below that is a terrible choice for anything but playing games. Some legacy games just won't go above a certain resolution. After going from a 19" 4:3 Samsung to the current 22" I just bought, I am thinking about returning it in favor of the 24". That 1900x1200 resolution is just awesome.

It is also good if you can hook up an HD DVD player or Blu-Ray disk player, which can both display their HD formated movies in 1080p, which looks awesome on a WUXGA monitor. I watch DVDs in HD on my laptop monitor, which is just WXGA, and it still looks great.

Re: Benq Fp241w 1:1
He's got a nice point there. If that monitor is HDCP compliant, you can playback anything. But don't get me started on HDCP. Took me a week to find out that the current line of Viewsonic Monitors are not HDCP. But if they have a manufacter date of March2007 or later, they are... had to call corporate to get that answer....
