Re: video card problem? not sure

Hey All
Sorry to just post in the wrong spot too, But I too am new here. I have just bought a Nvidia Geforce Fx6200 256MB AGP videcard. I am having trouble with the TV out. Its an Svideo out, and I am plugging in to a standard tv AV inlet. The card will not detect my tv at all. I am not even getting any sign of any movement on the screen. I have tried everything. I have done the troubleshoot about 1000 times, both in windows and at the geforce site. I have uninstalled and reinstalled in vga mode with no virus programs running. I have updated drives and gone back to older drivers people have suggested. I have checked every leed once twice ten times. Reboot after reboot and nothing is working. PLEASE PLEASE can someone help before I lose my screen to a hammer, or worst, my fist!!!!
HHHHHEEELLLLLPPP ME
;)

Re: tv out problem

Hi,

Make sure your TV is on the right input. Then, set the screen resolution to 640 x 480 @ 60 Hz, and see if you get an image on the TV.

Re: tv out problem

The cables seem fine. The TV has just the one input.

-Resolution= 640x480 pixels (but I have tried them all anyway)
-Color quality= Highest (32bit) (but I have tried them all anyway)
-Connector type= Composite (but I have tried them all anyway)
-Signal type= M/NTSC (but I have tried them all anyway)
-Multi-display mode= Clone (once again I have tried them all anyway)

This card LICKS
Has anyone had the same problem???

Re: tv out problem

Have you tried selecting Detect Displays?

Display Properties > Settings tab > Advanced... > GeForce FX6200 > Tools (At left) > Detect Displays

Re: tv out problem

Did you say you were using an S-video to composite video adapter? Does your TV only have a composite video input?

Re: tv out problem

Yep.. I have tried detecting displays so many times. It seems to only find the computer monitor. My TV only has the composite video input. Man this sucks... I had a Radeon card before this one and it ended up dying. I had problems with that card every now and then, until it just died on me. But nothing like this. I thought a different brand of card would be the best option. I guess I was wrong... :( I'm thinking the s-video output is faulty.
Thats the only thing I can come up with...

Re: tv out problem

It should be using that automatically, you shouldn't need to select it. ATI cards have been easier to set up with TV out, that is why I usually prefer them. Don't get a new card just yet, there may have been something I missed. I will post back with anything I think of. I have also asked other team members to take a look.

Re: tv out problem

I have this card too. What you could try is to go into the advanced settings ie right click on dekstop, properties, settings, advanced, FX6200 tab, tools, and click the force TV detection check box. try it and let us know!
