IP SpeedDome Video Camera

My camera manual says that the minimum requirement for the video card is 128MB. I currently have an Intel 82865 G. Also I have an Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.8 GHz with 512 MB ram. I think I need to upgrade my card. I don't mind getting something a little better than I need. However, I don't play any games on this computer and don't want to spend hundreds of dollars more than necessary.
Can someone suggest a good card at a reasonable price that will meet my needs.

Re: IP SpeedDome Video Camera

Have you tried just plugging the camera in and seeing if it works? If it works, you could save money.

That I think has 128 MB of shared memory, but I am not sure. If you do need an upgrade, a GeForce 6200 would do the job fine.

Re: IP SpeedDome Video Camera

Yes, I have the camera hooked up to a router and I can see it over the internet. In addition it works great on the computer that is also on that LAN which has a good video card. I tried hooking up a older laptop to the LAN and it would do about as bad as my desktop.

When I log onto the camera from my desktop I have many video problems and the camera software on my computer keeps loosing video and crashing. I am not sure but I think that my video on my desktop is only 64M shared.

My computer only has PCI ports. So I guess other types of cards are out.

The upload speed of the connection where the camera is at is about 750 kb/s. The download connection speed at my desktop is located is between 5-7MB/s.

Are you sure you don't have a PCIe x1 slot? Even if you don't have an AGP or PCIe x16 slot, and x1 would be better than PCI. They are basically really short compared to PCI slots.

If you don't, look at this card:
