Hello all,
I have recently purchased Sapphire 1950 XT 256 MB video card. The card can capture videos but I am unable to do this. I am having few problems with the card as I run Vista. I downloaded and isntalled the Vista Catalyst from ATI website but once in a while I still get a message from my OS saying that ATI driver was not found. But my Catalyst and Hydravision work ok. Why doesn't the video capture work? Am I not doing it correctly? I use either Nero or Windows Movie Maker and choose the option to "capture video" but everytime I get a message saying that no "video camera" or other device was found. Did I miss a step? Or even simpler, where can I find user's manual for the card. It didn't come in the box and I can't find it online. Please help if you know how to resolve this issue. Thank you. |

Re: ATI 1950 XT VideoCapture Issues...please help
Hi,
The X1950 series drivers have many known issues in Vista. If you have a dual boot with XP, you should try the video capture in that. I am not sure if this has to do with the problems here. What are you trying to capture from?

Re: ATI 1950 XT VideoCapture Issues...please help
I am trying to capture from a VCR. In case of a dual boot with XP: I am running on AMD, do I need special 64 version of XP or can I install my old version of XP on the AMD that I used to have on my old Intel computer?

With the Athlon 64, you can install 32-bit or 64-bit Windows. You don't have to uninstall Vista, if you have multiple partitions on the hard drive you can install XP alongside Vista in a dual boot. If you have virtual machine software, you can also use that I believe.
