RESOLVED GeForce 6150 LE + Samsung 940mw = no 1440x900

I just purchased a new HP a1730n desktop with Vista. It comes with the Nvidia 6150 Le. I have a Samsung 940mw which has a native display of 1440x900. None of the current available resolutions come close and look like crap.

What can I do?

Go into the display properties. You can add a custom resolution.

Start > Settings > Control Panel > Display > Settings > Advanced > GeForce 6150 > Screen Resolutions & Refresh Rates > Add Custom Resolution.

From here, make the number of vertical pixels 900, the number of horizontal pixels 1440, and the refresh rate 60 Hz. If the monitor supports it, you can put it at 75 Hz. The click OK, and select that resolution if it is not selected already. Then click OK to apply the settings.

I tried that but there is no display icon in the control panel. The Nvidia control panel has nothing for custom display either.

I downloaded a new Forceware driver from Nvidia to install. I removed the current driver and Vista automatically substituted one for me with an older date. The funny thing is now I can get 1440x900 with this older driver.

You must have had an incorrect driver. Glad you fixed it.
