Geforce 7800 gsoc big problem plz help!

Hi guys i can't get my Geforce 7800 gsoc working
when im putting in the drivers the fan seems to rev up and down and eventually the screen goes blank
i dont have a problem with my ati card
ive tried different drivers
even had it replaced but the new one does the same!! :/
when i first got this card it worked GREAT so i know my system can run it i was on a dodgy copy of xp pro
then i got genuine xp home ...and it dont work anymore!
one thing is when i reinstalled my m/b cd was broke!?!?

[jetway S755MAX] could it be the drivers for m/b?

Hi,

Yes, it could be drivers, but another thing you said that might be the problem is that you had one working, then put the other one in. Did you delete the old card items in device manager BEFORE you put in the new card.....that is a must for it to work correctly.

Hi,

Recommended 300 or 400 watt doesn't tell us much. It is the amperage of such cards that tells us something. Why not list the brand name and wattage of the power supplies you are trying and look on the side and list amps per rail for the +12 volt rail. (That would be on the side of the power supply) That way, we can look up the power supply efficiency and those details that will tell us a lot more.

Hi,

Nice call. You do see where I am coming from on this issue. Like putting a VW engine in a large fire truck. Let us know if we can help further and when you get a minute....before you correct that issue, be sure to read the power supply information under my signature area so you make an informed decision about what to purchase.
