hello problems with NEW PC build
hi i just built a new pee cee. Ive read old threads but no help ive got an asus pb5 motherboard, jeantech 700w PSU, 2 gig ddr2, 350gig sata, core 2 duo 1.86 processor. The problem is is that when i try boot the monitor says 'no signal' i try alot of things so i removed 1z stick of ram and it works 50/50 chance, but when i reboot i have to remove all cables, re put back in then try again. that is first problem. When i manage to enter bios it quickly skips a screen and says 'overclocking failed, return to bios to restore setting.' i dident try overclock anything, i thnk the gfx card is pre-OC'd its a BFG GeForce 7950 GT OC 512MB. it dosent let me do anything else when this screen appears. ive reset the cmos i think but with no luck does the same thing. There is no cmos noise at boot because i cant find the speaker cable, itry very hard but im 100& its been forgotten when building the comp the place in the qjumper is there for speaker though. ive noticed when i put 2x gig of ram in monitor dosent work at all. i apology for bad english :< please help annoying :< thank you

these days the speaker is usually one on the m/b or one that plugs onto the m/b
jeantec is not a good brand of psu have you connected the aux power plug to the m/b and to the video card if it requires it

i havent got another gfx card to try it on, this is my old computer using an agp card. Ive connected the only aux to the mobo, this was one of the first problems i had when i couldent boot. and into the gfx card is a 6pin pci-express connection. I would have thought 700watt would be very more than enough to run everything

Hi, thanks for the help so far. I tried it with only 1 ram stick, in a different slot and the it seems to have cured the problem [80% of the time itll be okay, if it dosent show on screen i unplug cords and reconnect]. But i still now have the problem of booting to bios. In the manual it tells me "you do not need to clear the RTC when the system hangs due to overclocking, use the CPR {CPU parameter recall} feature. Shut down and reboot the system so the bios can automatically reset parameter setting to default values". So i reboot and i get hit straight away with 'Overclocking failed! system halted to error!'
