my xp pro system says it's configured for agp so i purchased an nvidia fx 6200 for it but the card in it atm is a geforce 2 16 bit pci, so i am very confused and the new card hasn't arrived yet to test instalation
i'm confused because the pci card works, but has major lag issues in games such counter strike condition zero, but other games it has no lag, i was told by a comp builder that it was due to graphics card issues, but the whole pci and agp thing has me confused as the motherboard says agp and the current card is pci Last edited by darklotus28; 01-31-2007 at 11:36 AM. |

usually they put a pci cardin when the m/board has no agp slot
take the side off the computer and check the pci slots are white and an agp slot is brown and is just above the pci slots and a little further in towards the middle of the m/board this will tell you what is inside http://www.cpuid.com/pcwizard.php

thanks much, it appears it is agp as the graphics card is in a yellowish brown slot that is offset some from the rest of the slots and the rest of the slots are white, thanks again for the rapid responses to my questions
I look forward to not having to use this forum often, but knowing if i need to i will recieve fast knowledgeable answers |

when you receive your card just change them over and set the bios to detect agp first
you don't need to have a problem to come visit you can pick up a lot of knowledge just looking through the threads that interest you when you have spare time
