Need help with monitor

I got a pc that i customised myself and everythings sorted I believe except for the monitor. Ive got a working monitor but when I plug it in it won't bring up anything. I press the button to switch on the monitor but the colour beside it stays orange instead of green. I know the monitor works because once I detach the moniotr cable from the pc it says something about signal.

Help is much appreciated, thanks in advance!

have you plugged in any required aux power cables
is your psu big enough to run the system
