Switching Video Cards

I will try to explain this to the best of my knowledge.

A year ago, I bought a Compaq computer that runs on an AMD Sempron processor. It came with a built in SiS760 (128mb, I believe). Recently though, I wanted to play a game that had my SiS760 video card not supported so I switched to a lower video card (NVIDIA GeForce2 MX 100/200, 32mb) to play that game for the time being. More recently, I have wanted to switch back to the SiS760 video card. (also, I have got a new monitor recently, I don't know if that would affect that in any way) So I took the monitor cable and plugged it into the SiS760 slot. My monitor fails to show any graphics with the SiS slot and when I reattach it back to the GeForce, it starts to show again. I have looked in the Control Panel, tried to add it with Add Hardware, looked in Device Manager and System, but I don't know what to do.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you want to use the gEforce again in the short term? If not, remove the nVidia software for the gEforce card, shut down, and remove the card. When it restarts, hit the key (usually del, f1, esc or other) to enter the BIOS. In the 'integrated peripherals' section, there should be an option to enable the onboard video. Enable it, save changes and exit, and you should be good to roll.

Often times the integrated solution is turned off when an expansion card is installed. A good look at the BIOS settings can tell you what options are available to you. In all honesty you'll likely get better overall performance with the GeForce2 card.

Actually, the SiS card will get better performance, as it has support for shader and it has 4 pipelines as opposed to the 2 of the GeForce2. But yeah, the onboard video needs to be turned back on.
