XFX GeForce 7600GT 'Vs' XFX 6800XT

XFX GeForce 7600GT - http://www.videocardshop.co.uk/produ...id=PV-T73G-UGD

XFX 6800XT - http://www.savastore.com/productinfo...pid=45&tid=220

I was just wondering which is the better card as I'm looking to upgrade my Video card before Christmas, thanks.

if you are still getting the asrock board you linked to in the other thread.you better get the 6800xt you linked to here its an agp card, and will work with that mother board.the 7600gt you linked to here is a pci-x card, and wont work with that mother board.

The cards you've linked to can't be compared, because they are different types. One is AGP and the other is PCI-Express. You need to check your motherboard and see whether it has an AGP slot or a PCI-Express slot, and then find the appropriate cards.

Whatever the case, I'd go for the 7600 (both the cards come in AGP and PCI-E versions). The 6800 was a very good card, but it's getting old now, and newer games will take advantage of newer cards better than older cards.

EDIT: Looks like pharoah beat me to the draw again!

The 6800XT actually had 8 pipelines, the same as the 6800GS. Go for the 7600GT, it is a much better card.

6800GS is actually quite close to the 7600GT's performance. 6800XT isn't close to either though.

the 6800xt gets beat by the 6600gt, the 7600gt walks all over the 6800xt. you could get a 7600gt if you have an agp board, but youre gonna have to pay more as opposed to the pci-e version since the card isnt a native agp card and therefore needs a bridge to talk to an agp slot.

Yeah not really worth it I agree it's like a $50.00+ difference with the AGP and PCI 7600GT.
