What's the difference between Nvidia's GS and GT?

I was recommended to buy Naidia's GeForce 7600GT. However, when I got to the computer store they didn't have it in stock. I ended up picking up a 7900 GS. I looked for a 7900 GT but they didn't have that in stock either. What's the difference between these cards? The GT would have only been $30 more but I was impatient and wanted to but the thing right away. With the 7900 GS with Flight Simulator X with all of the graphics settings set on "very high" it only skips every 60 seconds or so...so I am happy with the performance. Would the GT have been better?

without looking and comparing all the spec's, I am pretty sure the GS has less pipelines than the GT which has 24. The GPu and memory frequencies may be slightly lower as well but can not be sure without checking

The standard clock speeds are the same, it just has 20 pipelines as opposed to the 24 of the 7900GT
