Sapphire Atlantis Radeon 9600 Pro without...

the heatsink/fan. Yes, this card works fine even without the heatsink/fan; that is what I has been told because I want to buy this used card for my old computer. What do you guys think about it? Would the heat generated damage the card???

Unless it's a very elaborate cooling system that's all copper with heatpipes I'd avoid it.

9600 PRO/XT cores can actually get pretty warm...I wouldn't use one without a proper sink. Heck, the tiny little circle of metal Sapphire puts on there is hardly sufficient.
