x800 GTO constant crashes in WinXP, pls help me!

I have a brand new ASrock Dual VSTA socket 939 m/b & also a brand new
x800 GTO 256mb card (PCI-e),

The only way i can use windows without it freezing after 0-2 mins is by disabling most of the hardware acceleration in display settings.

i've tried various different versions ATI drivers, and tried it in a different PC, on brand new windows installations. In both cases it does exactly the same thing (total freezing of machine)

Is my card just knackered or is there anything else i can try?, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated,

is the card overclocked..dose the mobo have onbard video... and what is your powersupply??

Cheers for replying Spriggan,

The card isnt overclocked, the mobo doesnt have onboard video, and as for the psu, i'm not sure what wattage, but i was running a 6800 gto with no problems before this, and i still get the same problem even if i unplug everything (ie cdrom, dvd, 1 of my hard drives, wireless card, case fans)...
