Hi,
I am a newbie , I have DELL ,Intell Pentium III,497 MHz,128 MB of RAM.I want to connect my computer to my TV, so that I can watch movies from mu computer on my TV.So i went to the store to buy a video card.I never play games,I wanted to use the video card just for watching movies on my TV.My computer does not have AGP slot.My friend told me to use CPI slot. Can I do it? What is the difference between those slots?I have a DVD movie in my computer. Is it gonna be DVD quality on my TV too? |

first of all its called PCI not CPI (propably a typo) then id make sure you have a DVD drive wich actually plays the movies.
Yes there are PCI video cards wich will work fine for what you want todo. The difference between PCI and AGP is that AGP is faster then PCI but only really necessary for gaming. A question i would have if your TV has S-Video or just the regular Composite (RCA jack yellow) ? Since your not looking at gaming performance and just want something to display your video on your tv ill recommend something like this. Here is a solution if you have an S-Video or an RCA jack ATI Radeon 9250 256MB DDR PCI VGA Composite TV Out Video Card 100-436012 at TigerDirect.com here is a solution if you dont need the RCA output just the S-Video EVGA GeForce MX 4000 64MB DDR PCI VGA TV Out Video Card 064-P1-NV91-LX at TigerDirect.com i will post some links later to newegg cause currently down
