Choosing a new card, need some information...
So currently running the following specs;
ASUS P4P800-SE 800mhz FSB 550watt Power Supply 2gb DDR 3200@400mhz 128mb Nvidia 6600 GT Pentium 4, 3.2ghz Now all together, im happy with the way my system performs, even if its starting to show its age against whats out now. What I want to do is get my video card moving faster, the 6600 just doesnt seem to cut it in some games im playing. What I was looking at, was ATI's x1600 agp 512mb, I can get a good deal on it, does anyone know if this card will have a problem running on my system, or if my system is gonna hold back the card at all? and if so, what other cards can you suggest. Thanks for any help J |

hello the ATI X1600Pro is a very good video card; but I would get the 256mb version instead of the 512mb the card cant use all that memory and the 256 is faster anyway!
Another consideration is the 7600GS another great card costs about $152.00 at newegg either one will spruce your system up. Your rig still has plenty of useful life yet, it may not be the front of the pack but it aint the tail end either! http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130051

may i also say that even if the x1600 is 256mb ram doesnt mean its faster as the x1600 256 cards are all ddr2. you need to look at the x1650pro's as those feature ddr3 and are a tad bit faster in the core and memory.
the 7600gt or gs might also be a consideration but i do want you to be aware that newer video cards will come out in a max of 2 weeks wich will propably drop prices again.
