the best your system can run is an Nvidia 7800GS (if you do get this a quality PSU of 500w or more is recommended)
id recommend an ATI x1600pro,x1650,x1300,x800 series or an Nvidia 7600GT,7300GS,6600GT x1650 ---one of the best choices for a good value--- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102057 x1600 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814131427 x1300 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102055 x850 ---propably your best choice--- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102606 6600GT http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130059 6800XT ---also a very good choice--- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814141038 7300GT http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150198 7600GS http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814125039 7800GS ---- THE BEST OF ALL OF THESE i recommend upgrading the PSU if u purchase one of these ---- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814143046 from all of these id go with the x1650,7600GS,x850,7800GS where the 7800GS is the best performing card of all of these.

i assume your computer is a custom built one ?
Power supplys i recommend: ThermalTake, Antec, Silverstone, Coolermaster, Corsair, OCZ, Enermax Id go with something like: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817163108 or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...2E16817194003# or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817341002 just some examples i dont know of any computer hardware retailers in the UK

it isnt custom built lol.. i bought it from a Uk retailer that went bust 5 months after we bought it.. (last year, sometime in january we bought it) and now i want to upgrade, im buying a graphics card, 2gb of ram, looking for a case and maybe a cheap disc drive and maybe a new 160 gig hdd for 93$

k the reason i asked because some of the prebuilt machines like HP and dell cant house the regular ATX Power Supplies. So if you are also upgrading the case then there should be no problem with the fitting of the newer PSU.
for the disc drive id recommend a DVD-RW as they are cheap like CD-RW drives but can burn play do everything with a dvd aswell with a cd. also i would consider building a brand new PC all together because thats basically what you are doing. You could go with an Intel 6300 2GB ram the 160GB drive a new case PSU a DVD-RW and a PCI-E graphics card paired with an asus, gigabyte, asrock or similar quality mobo. all this will run you around 800-1000$ but will provide a better upgrade base for the future as you can upgrade the CPU the video card more ram (up to 8GB usually). With the current Mobo you hit a dead end once you upgrade this time and thats it so i would consider investing such amount of money in a legacy computer.

k then id upgrade ur current system with Video Card Ram and PSU.
You could build a low budget AMD 64 system but the 450$ will not cut it cpu http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103733 mobo http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813130056 video http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130054 ram http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820161662 this excludes PowerSupply,Case,DVD-RW i think ull be better off upgrading ur current system with the 7800 2gigs of ram and a good PSU.
