TV Tuner Questions
Well I'm not quite sure is this is the right category, so very sorry if it isn't.
Anyway, the situation... I have a laptop, and I really want to use the monitor with my Xbox 360 (among other things). Is there any (affordable) external TV Tuner card that will allow me to connect the component video out of the 360 to my Laptop? Or even the composite? If so, would it even work on my 1.4GHz, 512MB Laptop? Thanks for any feedback. |

it would but the issue is it would be very slow as the regular or most tv tuner cards cannot work at the full frames (~30fps). you can give the external ones from ATI a shot or any other USB one ... something like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16815306003
although i dont recommend doing this as it might not work 100% i did this with an internal ati tv card and my xbox and it worked so im not sure if the USB can handle the video signals

Any USB TV tuner will be a bit slow, simply because the USB interface is a bottleneck.

Ah, I see. So it wouldn't really be worth it to use my laptop then... Too bad, just seems like a wasted LCD monitor to me. Anyway thanks for the information.
Also, just out of curiosity, would firewire make any difference? |
