Games load incredibly slow

i have a gateway 838gm. P4 3ghz. 1.5 gig dual channel pc 3200. geforce 6800xt. i just had the motherboard and processor professionally replaced with replacement parts sent by gateway. now everything appears to be running normal, web-browsing, dvds, etc. for some reason, however, games take incredibly long to load, and look choppy when i play them. call of duty 2 takes about 3 minutes to just load the game to the main menu, and longer to play. doom3 took a whole 15 minutes to load a game. i had not experienced this problem before. i also tried 2 different hard drives, both showed the same problem. i also uninstalled and reinstalled my cpu drivers. what could be causing my games to take so long to load?

Are you seeing a lot of HDD activity during these times? Loads are always heavy on the HDD, but if it's accessing DURING gameplay then that means it's having to pull data from the HDD rather than the RAM.

Are you downloading anything? Because often when i notice that its taking forever to load a game its because i am downloading something in the background.
