Okay, I recently bought a Radeon 9250 Video card (PCI) so I could put my fossil of an onboard to rest. But when I installed it, it couldn't be detected by the monitor, and neither could the onboard. The computer ran, but it couldn't be detected. When I removed it, the monitor could detect the onboard. This reminded me of something many months back, I had a different video card and took it out of a slot because I was having trouble with a network card at the time. But when I put it back in, it would do the same thing this one did: Lock up the video. At the time I didn't need advanced graphics, so I never bothered finding out what was wrong.
I don't think it has to do with the slots, because they handle Network Cards fine. I couldn't find the answer anywhere else, so I signed up here. Thanks. |

boot into windows and uninstall the onboard video card drivers
then install the ATI drivers for the 9200. after that reboot and plug in the 9200 make sure the cable is connected to the 9200 and try it. id also recommend testing the card in various pci slots if it doesnt work after the driver install
