I installed a new Asus EN7900GT PCIe in my 939DS2 rig only to have it go toast 4 days later. Funny thing 2 wks later, new replacment card has no screen display past DOS mode. If I install an old AGP also and set it as primary in bios, the 7900 works fine.
I ordered another 7900 and another Asrock MB, but nothing changed. It does seem there is some intereaction between the Sata controller and the video cards. Could a newer EN7900GT bios have been issued since my first card was recieved thay may be interferring? Got the GFX card about 2 months ago. the current bios is 5.71.22.15 running Geforce 91.33 edit: Also its not a driver issue as even Safe Mode has no display, I loose it as soon as the Win Logo boot screen is supposed to appear.

That system is underpowered - a quality 550W is the absolute minimum that system should run on, and your power supply is an "off-brand". Read "Important Power Supply Info" in my signature.
As for the driver aspect; if you boot up with the AGP card in, are you able to get into Windows? If so, remove the drivers, turn the system off, remove the AGP card, and try booting again using the PCI-E card. If you can then get in, download and install the 84.21's instead, as the 90-series drivers have not proved to be very stable. Boot into VGA Mode (same way as booting in Safe Mode), disable any antivirus you have, and then install the drivers.

Thanks for the reply.
Actually that ePower is $110.00 quality PS. I believe this may be a Fortran that was renamed. I even brought home my O'scope from work and ran several tests. All noise and voltage readings were well within spec. Will post specs below. If it wasn't enough power, then how would I be using it as I write this. I stressed it with 3dmark03 with scores above 18k and AM3 above 98k. From what I have researched, my system draws a max 380 watts under load as configured Running the 7900 alone, XP will load as normal but not display once the logo boot screen begins (running bar). The monitor says 'No Signal'. With an AGP card added, in the same problem will happen in PCIe is default in bios. It will display on the AGP but not load drivers for the PCIe. With either PCI (even though I don't have a PCI GFX) or AGP set as default, boot screen will show on Analog1 (running 2 cables, 1 analog on 5200, 1 DVI on 7900) and once XP is loaded, I press alt display on Viewsonic to see the digital display. It works quite wel,l but is driving me crazy. BTY, the 84 series drivers changed nothing. The Silent Engine Tiger 550 not only looks great, but it performs equally as well. The modular cable design and virtually silent operation of the cooling fan are great features. ....bigbruin.com Features: E Power Technology Silent Engine technology with 120mm cooling fan 2 * EMI filter added PCIe power leads for SLI function EZ cable plug for all power leads Able to use in even IPC or storage cases not required a board to power up 20+4 Pin ATX connector and 4+4 connector to fit PCIe and non PCIe boards Compatible with P4, AMD, Dual Xeon EPS 12V boards Short Circuit Protection, Short Circuit Protection Over Voltage Protection, Over Current Protection UL, CE, CB, FCC certified 100% HI-POT tested Manufacture's 3 year limited warranty Black mesh wrapped power leads and reflective nick coating chassis Technical Information: Model: EP-550P5-T1 AC Input 115-230Vac Current (AMP) 10/6A Frequency (Hz) 60/50Hz DC Output +3.3V +5V +12V1 +12V2 -12V -5V +5VSB Max Output Current 28A 48A 20A 20A 1.0A 0.8A 2.5A Combined Wattage 210W 35*A/40A 12W 4W 12.5W 530W 28W Total Wattage 550W Peak Wattage 650W
