Please help me with this problem...anyone
Thanks for reading first off.
I have been having this problem for a while now and i have trying everything i can personally think of short of a new computer to fix it. Here is the run down When i am on a game (tends to be newer game that have higher graphic output) i get a weird flickering on my screen after a few minutes. It is weird cause it is a solid color, normally black, in a triangle patern with the tip at the center of my screen. I thought it might be my monitor but i was able to take a screen shot, in the game Hitman Blood Money. It is not the greatest example and i am sorry, but shows what i am talking about. You can see in the upper left part how the triangles show up. This is very frustrating. Generally this is followed by other video problems such as this one here. ![]() You can see that the zoom is going out of where it should be. I have it set so it should be showing my PC stats but in case it doesn't here they are again. I have put the card into another one of my computers, and it worked fine. It just seems to be on this computer. Reformating didn't change anything either. It is a 500W power s. So i dont think that owuld be it either.

This is a pic of what it looks like normally when it is messing up. I have a huge house fan on the side of the computer too. so it is not a over heating issue like i though.

Hey thanks so much for the help. I think this might be the problem. After reading that i saw this information.
+5v 42A +12v 19A -5V .6A -12V .6A +3.3V 15V +5VSB 2.0A If you think these values are low i would be glad to hear your responce. Thanks again |

a single 19a 12volt rail may not be enough to power that thing i think alot of high end video cards require like 26a + to run

the PSU is by compusa.
that could be the problem looking at it more. Looking around at different PSUs i noticed very few have above the 12V 26+A. Even on the long post the cards in there were mostly under that. Is it i can add all the amps together, or what do you think i should do? I know with the 64 bit proscessor there too it will eat lots of energy, but i can't immagine everyone with this set up or better spends $150 on a PSU. Have any of you had this problem before with these "triangles" or is this just a guess? |

if the supply has a number of 12v+ lines you add them together
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817104018 this is a common problem posted on the forum.i have had it twice one a power supply and one a card caused the problem

+5v 42A
+12v 19A -5V .6A -12V .6A +3.3V 15V +5VSB 2.0A if this is what the sticker said on it then there is only 1x12v rail on that power supply it doesnt matter how many wires ya got commin out the back with 12volt on em edit: and yes not enough power to a video card can cause it to artifact

I just wanna say thanks to everyone who helped me out with this. I never would have known it could be such a problem, or what the name of my problem even was.
What do you guys think is the minimum amps on the 12V rail i should look at. I read 26 but if you guys think more i will take your advice |

26a is the best starting point right now, especially if it's a single 12v rail. For SLI and uber high-end you want 30 or so amperes.

19a from a quality supply will run your present system, the problem is a cheap psu will not supply the amps consistantly
if you plan on upgrading the m/b and video later then get the supply for it now to avoid paying out again later when you upgrade
