Quick Question
Hello guys I need some advice.
I currently have 1 eVGA 7800 GT PCI-E on a SLI mobo. But I have a question, Do you guys think I should save up and buy another 7800 GT to add to mine or wait until the DX10 stuff comes out and just buy a new card all together? And also, should I attempt to go for the first line of cards that come out or wait? Thanks guys! |

Well, what's your state of mind? Do you have a burning need for speed, or are you patient enough to wait? If you buy a card to match yours right now, it will run all of your current games a lot faster, but you'll see the difficulty those SLI cards have when you try to run a DX10 game on them. Games that are built on DX10 are capable of running on DX9 hardware, but at the cost of speed. However, if you wait and buy a video card from the next generation, you'll get all of the goodies. :) SM4.0 will be emerging right around the time DX10 does, so that is definitely something to look forward to. But like I said, it's honestly up to you.

Hi,
Nice discussion topic by StaticInMyHead. It is really up to you. My take is that the dual cards are the not the answer when new and updated things will be out in the near future. If you had a lessor card than what you have, my advice might be different, but the card you have will do about everything you actually need at this time. So, why waste the bucks when you can be at the top of the heap soon and if you have the dual ones of this card, you would not be. You can be either king now for a short time, or king for a much longer time in the near future. I am rambling, but you get the picture. That is my opinion.
