Installed Geforce card, now PC wont boot normally.
Ok, I installed a Geforce graphics card a while ago, I disabled the onboard graphics etc etc. Now the PC wont boot up normally, it goes to a black screen with a cursor blinking, the only way i can get to windows is to go some boot/hard drive screen right when i turn it on, this screen im talking about has all of the drives on the PC and I have to select my C: drive, then it will work. I have even tried to remove the card and it does the same thing.
Please help. |

Sounds like the CMOS was reconfigured. I'd check CMOS setup and make sure the Hard Drive is set to boot first.

Ok here is my boot menu options in BIOS:
HDD Group boot priority screen in BIOS; 1. Generic USB SD reader 2. 1st master MAXTOR 3. 2nd slave ST36002oA Now i figured that the MAXTOR in the #2 place needs to be #1 and off the side of the screen it says to move positions of these i need to press <+> or <-> but nothing moves with i do that, how do i move these around? |

why is it trying to boot from a usb drive first? wouldn't you want to boot the os on a hard drive. My laptop doesnt boot properly when i have a usb disk inserted, maybe you just have to change the boot order.
just a thought |

It's common for the boot order to have a removable media drive first to permit booting from a disc. It can be an annoyance for some users if they leave media inside the drive during boot, so as a rule of thumb many choose to have not first and change the boot order when necessary.
