Video/Monitor/Driver Problems?

Alright,

The Problem:
When starting up the pc, everything goes fine until the windosw "welcome" screen. At the welcome screen, my monitor (15" LCD 1024x768 max) refuses to display anything other than "Out of Range". (same thing happens with a different monitor as well).

This started happening after a game I was running crashed and froze up the OS. (after freezing, the monitor went blank. I rebooted, see above^)

The Specs:
AMD A64 4000+ (single core)
Asus A8N-E
Connect3d X1900gt
Windows XP
Rosewill RP550-2 550W PSU
-I don't think any others are relevent

I think it's probably in the software (drivers or some setting)... but can't know for sure without being able to see whats going on onscreen.

Anyone know how to fix it w/o reinstalling windows?
