Actually, I believe the x1600 AGP card is one of the fastest ATi AGP cards out right now. The 512MB version is hard to find, but you could try googling around for benchmarks. Something like 'x1600 pro 512 vs 7800gs agp' or something like that. Just insert whatever card your comparing it to (or remove that totally if your only looking at the x1600 pro), in place of the 7800gs example.
I don't have an x1600, but benchmarks can be good to look at. Look at a competing card your thinking about, and decide if x% performance increase justifies $y increase. Good luck! |

Sounds like a really nice card. I'm still quite fond of AGP in general, I think it was a good interface and that we won't see really dramatic differences between the two until the card technology catches up with the capabilities of the new interface.
Meanwhile I'm stuck back with a GF4 Ti4400...

Yeah, mine's a 128... and they have really decent hardware; it's just a shame they're not directly DX9 compatible.

The X850XT is one of the best AGP cards in my opinion. Its older but still is good, I recomend it to people who are waiting for the DX10 cards to come out.
