Dual Wallpapers

Hi,
I recently set up dual monitors (with the help of you guys thank you very much) and I would like to know how i can either extend a single wallpaper across both monitors or have seperate wallpapers for each monitor. also i would like to know how to extend my taskbar across both monitors. Thanks in advance

(also i noticed one screen is noticibly whiter and brighter than the other but that can probably be solved by going through monitor settings)

You are correct in assuming that the brightness is changed on the monitor itself - somewhere in the OSD will be the option to adjust it.

As for the desktops - what video card are you using? You should have options in the video drivers to adjust the dual-screen settings. I don't use ATI cards, but on NVIDIA cards, you can set it to Horizontal Span, which will span the taskbar across both screens. Then, you can use the background settings in Display properties (Control Panel) to stretch the background across both screens.

I have an ATi desktop card. I'm pretty sure you can have different backgrounds on each screen, but I've never found a way to make the taskbar strech across.

Task bar... hmmm, I've used a program called multimon for the past few months for my dual monitor setup, and it has worked quite well.

As for the wallpaper, the only thing that I've found to work was to stitch the two wallpapers together in photoshop or even paint to 1280x2048 or whatever crazy res you're working in and then setting it to tile in the background options so that it'll just lay across the two monitors. Worked well for me, especially with wallpapers meant for dual monitors.

As for the brightness, etc., you'll want to not only match the brightness and contrast, but also the color temperature and gamma correction as well to match. Otherwise moving from one monitor to the other will be a bit awkward on the eyes.
